Motorola XT615 makes official FCC cameo

Yes, Motorola’s latest slinky slim smartphone has just cleared the FCC, but before you get too excited, nothing about it has changed. From all appearances, the XT615 remains targeted solely at international markets with dual-band 2100 / 900MHz WCDMA. Of course, it’s certainly usable here in the States (in a pinch), thanks to quad-band GSM support, but if you demand a svelte handset and blazing fast LTE , you’re most certainly better off with its more powerful sibling.

Sprint expected to introduce Kyocera Echo at event later today, HTC Arrive also indirectly corroborated

Businessweek has managed to track down an insider with information on the plans of both Sprint and Kyocera, and he (or she) has been talkative enough to confirm that a Kyocera Echo is all set for launch on the Now Network at an event later today. Sprint’s tagline for said event was that it’ll deliver an ” industry first ” that makes us believe “the impossible is possible,” and with all due respect to Kyocera, neither of those really sounds exactly like the company’s upcoming Android handset. The first time we got wind of the Echo, however, it was accompanied by a tip about a Windows Phone 7-based HTC Arrive , a more likely candidate for that industrial innovation prize — there are no CDMA WP7 devices quite yet.

HTC Legend clears the FCC

We haven’t heard much about much more than a rumored German price when it comes to HTC Legend availability, but the phone has now cleared the FCC, which could well indicate that it’s headed over here sooner rather than later. No other details (or pictures), unfortunately, but you can dive into a few test reports at the link below if that’s your thing. And if, for some reason, you’ve yet to be acquainted with the Legend (a.k.a.

Samsung ST5500 WiFi camera hits the FCC

Samsung’s fast making a name for itself as a company that throws more than the basics into into its point-and-shoots, and it looks to be continuing the trend with its new ST5500 camera, which just recently cleared the FCC. Judging from the specs, this one certainly looks to have things covered on the picture-taking front, with it packing an ample 7x optical zoom, 14.2 megapixels, ISO settings up to ISO 3200, a max 1/2000 shutter speed, and support for 720p video at 30 fps for good measure
