Trainings Announced for DrupalCon Denver

New hands-on trainings are now open for registration when you register for DrupalCon Denver 2012. A full listing has been added online where you can read more about the trainings going on Monday, March 19, 2012 before the conference kicks off. Training is offered at a much reduced rate compared to standard full day training offerings and it’s a great opportunity to save on travel costs if you are attending DrupalCon already.

Session proposals are still being accepted for the next DrupalCon, being held at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, March 19 -23, 2012. The conference theme is “Collaborative Publishing for Every Device” and the deadline to submit sessions is October 26, 2011 23:59:59 UTC/GMT -7.

Hackers break into Subaru Outback via text message

We’ve already seen SCADA systems controlled by Google Search , and now the Black Hat Technical Security Conference is offering up yet another slice of cringe-inducing hacker pie. A pair of pros from iSec Partners security firm was able to unlock and start the engine of a Subaru Outback using an Android phone and a process they call war texting. By setting up their own GSM network, they were able to snatch up password authentication messages being sent from server to car, allowing them the option to ride off in a brand new crossover

The DrupalCon London Team had the task of narrowing 341 fantastic proposals into a schedule of 60 sessions, balanced across 5 tracks: Site Building and Environment Set-up, Business and Best Practices, Code & Coders, Design, UX & Theming, and Ecosystem. You can check out the schedule now and attendees will be able to build their schedule on the DrupalCon London site by logging in later this week. This breaks down to 5 tracks with 12 sessions each.

NFC-enabled Angry Birds Magic gets demoed, dares you to find another C7 owner

Okay, so maybe it’s not that hard to find another Earthling with a C7 , but let’s be honest — finding someone with a Nexus S is entirely more likely. For now, however, it seems as if Angry Birds Magic will be reserved for the aforementioned Nokia handset, and while we already heard of its NFC-enabled tricks, seeing it in action is another thing entirely. Our pals over at Netbook News were able to snag a quick demonstration at the MeeGo Conference, and it seemed to work exactly as advertised: tap two phones together, and five new levels are gained
