Creative pumps out $99 HN-900 noise-canceling headphones

Fact: not everyone’s willing to pay a premium to enhance their personal listening experience. Fortunately for those of you who like noise cancellation and a flush bank account, Creative’s just taken the wraps off its $99 headset that’ll do the trick. The HN-900 offers great features — aside from the low price tag — such as 40-hours of active noise canceling powered by some AAA juice (for the times when you feel like ignoring the world), 40mm Neodymium drivers, and a built-in microphone to help with making and answering calls, just to highlight a few.

This 350 Piece K’Nex Value Tub Is Your Creative-Building Deal of the Day

When I was a wee pup, my parents told me to always stay open minded. Be accepting, try everything and don’t ever discriminate. I think that was some sort of life lesson about people but I took it as COOL, I’LL EAT PIZZA, BURGERS AND ICE CREAM

Freaklabs’ FredBoard gives the gift of hackerspace to Mothership HackerMoms

Come this (Black) Friday , it’ll officially be the season for gift-giving and general family dysfunction. So, why not warm that tech-tinkering heart while heating up the creative juices of the baby-bound set with a Freaklabs purchase that puts your money to good use? The outfit’s got a monster mash FredBoard up for order that splices together an Arduino and breadboard to make your first brush with homegrown modding a relatively painless affair.

TED: Béatrice Coron: Stories cut from paper – Béatrice Coron (2011)

With scissors and paper, artist Béatrice Coron creates intricate worlds, cities and countries, heavens and hells. Striding onstage in a glorious cape cut from Tyvek, she describes her creative process and the way her stories develop from snips and slices

Open 7400 Logic Competition

The Open 7400 Logic Competition is open and waiting your creative entry. I am not even sure the last time I slid open my drawer that contains my various 7400 chips I did see my TI 7400 yellow data book the other day. The thing I used to love about troubleshooting a circuit built with 7400 parts is that you could easily confirm a bad chip hunch in about 5 seconds by swapping it out

Creative doles out Sound Blaster gaming headsets, Recon3D audio platform / sound cards

Creative isn’t nearly the aural force it once was, but it’s still a respected name when it comes to headsets and — gasp! — sound cards. Here at IFA , the outfit has busted out a new range of Sound Blaster (yeah, seriously) gaming headsets for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC and Mac platforms. The 360-friendly Sound Blaster Tactic360 Sigma is being revealed with a steel core headband design and 50mm audio drivers, not to mention separate voice and game audio controls.

Canon PIXMA iP4920, MG5320 bring filters, ‘creativity’ to photo printing

Canon’s just released a pair of new PIXMA printers that seem to rely on your lack of Photoshop knowledge. For the PIXMA MG5320 Wireless All-In-One and iP4920 Inkjet Photo Printers, functionality is pretty straight forward, but the outfit’s hoping to reel you with the promise that the pair brings “creativity to a whole new level.” That “enhanced creativity” comes in the form of “Fun Filter Effects,” a set of elementary photo filters, like Fish-Eye and Toy Camera, and the ability to add soft focus and blur backgrounds

YouTube embraces Creative Commons licensing, turns your cutesy kitty into mashup fodder

Sourcing material from the mecca of viral video has always been a bit iffy — who knows which rabid Beyonce fan will bite back when you slice and dice their Single Ladies tribute video . However, YouTube’s recent addition of the Creative Commons licensing option just made it a whole lot easier to make mashups without stepping on anyone’s stiletto-sporting toes. Users are now given the option to choose between YouTube’s standard license or the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license, which, when selected, automatically adds the video to a library of similarly appointed videos, now available for your cutting and captioning pleasure.

ZiiLabs outs dual-core ZMS-20 and quad-core ZMS-40 for Honeycomb tablets, clocks ‘em at 1.5GHz

For now, the HTC Flyer can console itself for not having a second core (like all the other guys ) by noting that its 1.5GHz clock speed is faster than any other tablet. Pretty soon, however, the choice between speed and core count might not have to be made at all, as ZiiLabs has just announced new dual-core and quad-core ARM Cortex-A9 systems-on-chip that run at the same 1500MHz speed as the Flyer
