It’s been quite a day for all you cinephiles out there. First Canon outed its pair of EOS Cinema cameras, and now RED has finally released the Epic’s baby sister Scarlet . Scarlet packs a similar punch as her older brother, so she can shoot 5k (5120 x 2700) resolution stills at 12fps, or shoot your next cinematic masterpiece in 4K at 25fps.

Guitar Hero and Rock Band may have catapulted games developer Harmonix into the spotlight, but the games studio looks set to branch out more into motion-based, Kinect-friendly titles. Talking to our sister site, Joystiq , Harmonix CEO Alex Rigopulos said that his company’s success with Dance Central had left them with an “affinity for motion gaming.” With Guitar Hero currently in rehab , this might be a little clue to Harmonix’s future releases. Gymnastics Hero, anyone?

Vimeo user Matt “Namethemachine” Davis posted a video showing a new hack for the peripheral, using its camera-based motion detection, combined with Ableton Live, DMX protocol, and more clever hackery to create a one-man electro-laser light show
