Amazon canceling some Transformer Prime pre-orders, supply shortages to blame

Were you one of the eager beavers who pre-ordered ASUS’ new superslate, the Transformer Prime , from Amazon? It turns out, demand for the tablet was so great that it’s outstripped the retailer’s supply, so Bezos’ business is apparently canceling orders placed on or after November 22nd and issuing refunds.

Motorola pushes up Atrix 4G launch to Feb. 22, shoves Xoom pre-sales back to Feb. 20th?

The best laid plans of Motorola may be in disarray, as we hear the device manufacturer is shuffling release dates for its hottest new Android devices. Supposedly, AT&T customer service reps are getting the above message in their inbox, which suggests the modular Atrix 4G smartphone may arrive more than a week earlier than planned, while a Best Buy memo (image after the break) pegs Xoom tablet pre-sales for February 20th, three days after the date originally communicated . Still, we haven’t heard anything to suggest that the Xoom won’t be 100 percent ready for purchase on February 24th , so you should be just fine saving your eight Benjamins for then

iPhone 4 pre-orders now shipping

We’re still trying to puzzle out the mystery of why some iPhone 4 pre-orders have been randomly canceled , but there’s good news for the rest of the 600,000 people who managed to get past Apple’s ordering issues last week : the newest iPhone is now shipping. We haven’t gotten our ship notification email yet, but judging from our tip jar plenty of other people have — we’ll see if anyone’s lucky enough to score an early delivery

Apple iPhone 4 pre-orders now sold out?

We have no idea how this happened given the insane problems Apple and AT&T have had processing iPhone 4 pre-orders today, but lots of people (including us) are seeing a July 2 ship date at Apple’s online store, or about a week after the next-gen iPhone launches on June 24. Frankly, that’s amazing — we can only imagine the kind of sustained rush it took to cause a sellout of a product virtually no one was actually able to order . So that’s Apple and AT&T both sold out — at this point it’s looking like standing in line somewhere come launch day is going to be your best bet, but we’ll let you know if we hear any better news.

iPad orders start at 8:30AM tomorrow morning

We knew iPad pre-orders were starting tomorrow , but know we know exactly when all you lovable crazies have to stumble out of bed and transmit your credit card numbers to Steve’s brain: 8:30AM ET, or 5:30AM on the West Coast. We generally recommend a bed shaker alarm clock , but hey, let’s not pretend we haven’t all turned a few long nights into tomorrow with our old friends Jackie D and Mistakes. See you on the other side, chochachos.
