You may remember that during the TouchPad fire sale, a few slates slipped out with a rather primitive Froyo build on them. Well, HP doesn’t seem to know how the tablets hit shelves with Android on board, but its decided to release the source code for the OS nonetheless.

Apple announces iBook 2 for US schools. Will the UK follow?

Thursday, Apple announced the release of iBooks2  and iBooks Author; new and free textbook reading  and authoring tools.   Apple also revealed a partnership to create and sell low cost interactive textbooks with the big three textbook publishers that account for 90% of the sales of textbooks to the first 13 grades of American schools, known as K-12.

Originally posted by a user on talk.maemo.org , the shots point to many upcoming functions with which Android and iOS users are already familiar, including copy-paste browser support and a notably iOS-like folder layout

For the second year in a row, it looks like Vizio has taken advantage of its sponsorship of the Rose Bowl to tease a new product — last year it was an Android tablet , and the 2012 game brought this new display design. It flashes around :25 into the ad (embedded after the break), and while there’s no details on exactly what it might be, we know Vizio had plenty of Google TV tech to show off last year, and after a year of development plus the release of Google TV 2.0, it may have decided to match Sony’s funky TV setup with an interesting stand of its own

By David Ponce With prices of gold near record highs, don’t expect this to be coated with anything other than paint. Not to mention, this PS3 is not a custom mod but rather a real product Sony is releasing in Japan on March 1st to mark the release of One Piece: Kaizoku Musou . As you can see, aside from being golden, there’s a stenciled Luffy from One Piece on the console.
