Telus flipping switch on LTE, network goes live February 10th

After the competition got a head start , Telus has finally announced it’s ready to flip the switch on its fresh LTE network tomorrow. Though it’s certainly taken the longer road, its 4G waves are hitting several more markets on launch day in comparison to Rogers’ solo-city debut. Among the selected 14 markets for the rollout are major cities such as Vancouver, Edmonton, Toronto, Waterloo, Ottawa and Montreal.

German court upholds ruling against Apple, clears Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1N for sale

Apple’s legal team has been dealt another blow in Germany, where a court today shot down the company’s requests for a preliminary injunction against the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1N . In a statement issued this morning, the Dusseldorf Regional Court said it found “clear differences” between the 10.1N and Apple’s iPad, affirming a preliminary ruling handed down in December , and a similar decision announced in Munich this month.

NPD: iPhones recover market share in Q4 2011, but Android draws the first-timer crowds

According to the latest research from the NPD group, Apple has got its second wind in smartphone sales. In the same quarter that saw the iPhone 4S reinvent the wheel obey our every vocal whim, the trio of available models soaked up a total of 43 percent of the US smartphone market in Q4 2012, apparently knawing away at Android’s market share of 53 percent held during the rest of 2011

US Cellular intros first LTE devices: the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 4G and Galaxy S Aviator 4G

US Cellular’s had its LTE network in the oven for quite some time , and we knew it was going to be showing up sometime next month. The missing part of the equation, however, was which devices would ring in the celebration. The carrier finally answered the mystery question: the first tablet, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 4G , will be the inaugural device and is expected to arrive in March, while the Galaxy S Aviator 4G should be gracing store shelves sometime in April.

We’ve known for a while that the Samsung Galaxy Note was coming to AT&T sometime soon, but now we actually have a date: February 19th. If that day just isn’t going to come soon enough, there’s a way to get it delivered two days earlier — the carrier’s offering a pre-order option beginning next Sunday, and your February 17th delivery is promised as long as you click that “order” button by the 15th. Just as predicted, the device will be available for $300 with a two-year commitment
