Apple randomly canceling some iPhone pre-orders? Update: AT&T pre-orders too?

We haven’t verified exactly what’s going on here, but we’ve gotten several tips tonight from people who’ve received an iPhone 4 pre-order cancellation email from Apple saying that their order couldn’t be authorized. That sounds like an AT&T authorization problem to us, and given the the litany of problems that Apple and AT&T had all week dealing with the huge number of pre-orders , we can’t say we’re too surprised to hear that the chaos continues. Here’s the email: Dear Customer, We were unable to complete the authorization process for your iPhone order

Confirmed: HTC HD2 will not be upgraded to Windows Phone 7 series

Bad news, HTC HD2 owners: Microsoft has finally come right out and confirmed our suspicions that the mighty HTC HD2 won’t be upgraded to Windows Phone 7 Series. Joe Belfiore just told us that the HD2 is “not compliant with the Windows Phone 7 Series hardware specifications ,” which should end any of the lingering doubt that’s clouded this issue since MWC. That certainly puts a damper on the HD2′s upcoming launch on T-Mobile , but hey — every Microsoft employee here at MIX is carrying one, so it’s clearly the WinMo handset to get until it’s eclipsed by 7 late in the year

PS3 issues apparently resolved, game on

Rejoice: PS3s across the land are now once again playable. That’s the word according to our friends at Joystiq , who say that the clock issue affecting “fat” PS3s has been somehow resolved and games are once again working correctly. We’re not sure if this means Sony’s fixed something on the network side or if the internal clock just ran past a certain time, but at least our long nightmare is seemingly over

Go nna be a long day for BlackBerry users: RIM’s confirmed to multiple outlets that its BIS servers are acting up and that email services are being delayed — and we’re actually hearing that they’re just down, period.
