Samsung releases CES 2012 teaser, hints at upcoming Smart TV products (video)

It’s certainly not much, but with just a few words at the end of a YouTube clip, Samsung hopes to grab your interest. The Korean electronics giant has just released a “through the years” style clip that encapsulates over 50 years of advances with its television systems (i.e., the switch to color, rabbit ears, higher resolutions, DVR, 3D TVs, etc.). The clip concludes with the words “Experience the Future of Smart TV ” and highlights the company’s upcoming presence at CES next month

A new BlackBerry to be unveiled tomorrow, or so Facebook would have us believe

What’s made by Research in Motion and is “shiny, new, and social all over?” No one can say for sure, but according to BlackBerry’s Facebook page, we’re going to find out tomorrow. Might it be the Torch 2 come calling, newly acquired FCC badges in tow? Perhaps Waterloo’s hinting at the Bold Touch , its phone of many flavors .

Dell XPS 15z coming tomorrow for $999?

The thinnest 15-inch laptop “on the planet” is coming tomorrow, costing a measly $999, according to the Wall Street Journal . In a profile of Dell’s recent history and forthcoming plans in the consumer electronics market, the financial paper twice makes reference to an ultrathin, $999 laptop that is set to launch on Tuesday of this week. Pairing that intel with the abundance of leaks surrounding the slinky 15.6-inch XPS 15z — including a Michael Dell tweet promising it’s ” coming soon ” — leads us to the conclusion that we’ve finally gotten ahold of the price and date for Dell’s next big thing.

Dell teases lithe new laptop to stimulate our gadget senses (video)

Mmmm, there’s nothing like some shots of a slim new PC to get our gadget senses all tingly, and Dell’s done just that via a new video. Posted on its Facebook page today, Round Rock’s latest laptop — which likely claims XPS lineage — is looking lean and clean, with a couple of USB 3.0 ports and lattice-work speaker grilles.

Sony poster at CES shows unannounced, extremely slim-looking phone (update: probably the Anzu)

Sony’s CES banners have been unfurled around the Las Vegas Convention Center here and one of them has a particularly alluring, and particularly skinny, phone to show us. The above image of half a touchscreen handset (more closeup photography of which you’ll find in the gallery below) shows a Sony Ericsson brand and what looks like a 3.5mm headphone jack — the latter of which would suggest that this phone is no more than six or seven millimeters thick.

Vizio teases entry into the tablet fray with pizazz via Rose Bowl spot

Teasing tablets ahead of the CES deluge is nothing new for manufacturers now, but we’ll at least give Vizio a few style points for its expensive approach to the tactic. That’s because a Vizio tablet made a not-so-secret appearance during the Rose Bowl. Specifically, the device appeared about 15 seconds into the chairman’s message in the hands of Vizio chief sales officer Randy Waynick.
