Reading and Writing to the Atmega168 internal EEPROM

When using a microcontroller one of the most important feature to use is the internal non-volatile memory. This will allow you to store information that might be needed to store user selected features or system variables that need to persist power cycling. Interfacing with the EEPROM will depend on the microcontroller you are using

iPod nano code hints at possible video playback

It may not be anything more than a bit of excess or leftover code, but it looks like there’s at least a hint of some possible video playback capabilities lying deep in the code for the new iPod nano (the internal settings property list, to be specific). As discovered by Erica Sadun over at TUAW , that includes options for things like TV subtitles, captions and alternate audio, and even a fit-to-screen option — for the perfectly square aspect ratio of the nano’s screen, perhaps?

I Accidentally Invented Electronics in 1906 [Inventions]

Our modern media spring from a common source, an invention that is rarely mentioned today but that had as decisive a role in shaping society as the internal combustion engine or the incandescent lightbulb.

Palm introduces Palm Pre Plus: 16GB, coming to Verizon on January 25th

No surprises here, but Palm just dropped its ” big news ” here at CES — or half of it , anyway. The Palm Pre Plus will ship with twice the internal memory of the original (up to 16GB), a standard induction cover for Touchstone charging (it was an option before), an omitted navigation button on the front panel (to keep it clean, we guess) and a Big Red logo
